Brooksville Man Killed Saturday On 301 After His Pickup Truck Loses Control Hitting An SUV
A 55-year-old Brooksville man was killed around 11:20 P.M. Saturday on U.S. 301 in Pasco County after he lost control of his pickup truck and hit an SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was traveling south on U.S. 301 near Mattingly Lane, according to the Highway Patrol, when he steered left around debris on the road, entered the grassy median, and lost control of the pickup. He then crossed back into the southbound traffic and hit the back of an SUV, which caused the pickup to flip, troopers said.
The man was thrown out of the truck as it flipped, suffering fatal injuries. Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
There were two women from East Palatka in the SUV. Neither was injured, police stated.
