What Could Possibly Go Wrong If A Motorcycle's Turn Signals Don't Shine Bright Enough?
Getting on the back of a bike can be pretty dangerous. Sure, most motorcycle operators will probably tell you it isn't, but it can be. The activity is risky because motorcyclists share the roadways with passenger vehicles and commercial trucks. All it takes is for one of their operators to be negligent in some fashion while a motorcycle rider is in the vicinity for things to turn ugly in a hurry.
Pads, helmets, and clothing can only protect a person so far. Yes, the safety gear prevents many injuries, but it cannot stop them all in their tracks. People can die in motorcycle crashes too, but we'll save that topic for another day. Today, we're strictly focused on injuries. If a negligent driver strikes your bike, you could be left with wounds such as...
• Fractures And Broken Bones
• Burns From Tires, A Hot Engine, And More
• Gashes, Lacerations, Punctures
• Brain Damage
All of those things sound pretty expensive to recover from, right? Well, if you can prove negligence was involved, you might be entitled to compensation. That's where having a top-notch motorcycle accident attorney in your corner comes in handy. What if there was something else to blame, though? For instance, what if a defective part or manufacturing error leads to a collision?
In such a situation, a person may be able to seek compensation from the manufacturer or seller. Those entities are responsible for any harm products sold on the marketplace cause. Thus, if you're involved in a crash and believe manufacturer negligence is at fault, please, don't hesitate to give us a call. Upon doing so, you can schedule a free case evaluation with The St. Pete Lawyer to discuss your options. We are now going to switch gears a bit and discuss a recent development with one particular bike. So, stick around and read on to see if you're riding it.
Recall Number SRV-RCL-21-009
The notices for this recall were supposed to start getting mailed out on June 23, 2021, so you may not have gotten yours yet, providing that you do at all. Ducati North America is in the process of recalling 228 Scrambler 800 Night Shift motorcycles manufactured in 2021. It has been brought to the company's attention that the front and rear turn signal lights may not shine brightly.
Many drivers have a hard time seeing motorcyclists, but this makes a grim situation worse. A rider could be doing everything right, including using their turn signal, and they might get hit because it wasn't bright enough. Once struck, motorcyclists can hit the pavement, the car that hit them, or other objects hard. It is also possible for riders to get run over in these events.
The point is that if you own a Scrambler 800 Night Shift motorcycle, now is a good time to have it checked. If the light issue exists, there's likely not an excellent outcome from leaving it as-is. However, if you get seriously hurt by this bike or another defective product, The St. Pete Lawyer is here to help.
